Shawn is an attorney with Wylie and Washburn, LLC.  Before joining the firm, Shawn practiced for nine years in the areas of litigation, education, and employment law.  An active member of the legal community, Shawn chaired the South Carolina Bar Association’s Education Law Committee from 2014-16 and is a 2015 alumni of the South Carolina Bar’s Leadership Academy.  He holds the Martindale-Hubbell “AV” peer review rating, which is the highest possible rating in both legal ability and ethical practice, and has been honored as a Super Lawyers “Rising Star,” and one of the “10 Best” by the American Institute of Legal Counsel.

Shawn is involved and invested in the local community of Columbia, South Carolina.  He has served as Vice Chairman for the Columbia Parks and Recreation Foundation, and has been a proud supporter of both the Nickelodeon Theater and the Columbia Museum of Art.  He has written articles for the South Carolina Lawyer,, Palmetto Administrator magazine and the Free Times. He has also served as a big brother with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Columbia, and is an active member at Riverside Community Church.

Shawn lives in Columbia with his wife Naomi and their dog Luke.  In his free time, he enjoys watching Gamecock sports, and hiking and fly-fishing in the mountains when he and Naomi can get away.
